TREASURE – SAY NO TO RAPE( Poems)
For all the pains and anger you have caused me
And empty lies you used to lure me,
You hurt me, even when you said you love me
I was a child but you took advantage of me
You were as gentle as a lamb
You’d sing, while I slept in your arms,
You taught me how to pray
But while I prayed, you ‘preyed’
You did my chores so that I could rest,
Whatever I wanted, you gave me the best,
You promised to buy me a new dress
But the one I had, you tore to shreds.
You said you would do anything to make me happy
I trusted you, and I was never sorry,
I had no Father, you fit in the picture
Little did I know you had eyes on my ‘figure’.
Whenever you came to visit,
You loved to carry me on your back, whistling
You’d take me to your room against my wish,
I screamed and I cried, but you did not listen
You used to call me ‘treasure’
But what I treasured most was your object of pleasure
You told me love was in the heart,
At night, you became a beast in the dark.
I felt confident around you
You took care of me, true
You called me child, I called you Father
But you went against my wish, and made me a mother!
You turned into a monster, you got what you came for
You lied to my family, oh!, lying was your weapon
I pulled the rope, I had to give up
I feared death, but there was nothing to live for!
